Morning Summons
They are mad who think we are, who see the world through normal eyes- long ago we did away with normalcy. Now we skip on our heads and draw our eyes upon the sun; we have learnt to paint the sky with stars and dance to divine conversations...
We were gods once, once upon a time, before we fell victim to terrible thinkings and crooked conceivings. We held the worlds within our fingers and carried our music upon sunbeams, as we planted our feet in oceans of knowledge and lands of simple decisions, like the angel upon land and sea. We sang to our hearts' content, and at the peak of dawn, we took up wings and flew into the heavens. But where are we now? We have descended dungeons deep into our baser natures, concerning ourselves with matters which we once scorned. We took the truth and made a farce of it, stringing it up like a puppet at theatre for the amusement of fools- as gods, we called them fools once. Now if we aren't any better, we have certainly gone lower. We have sat with pigs at the village mud pool, swam with swarms of flies at Filth Stream, frolicked with stray dogs at the back of Worthless Alley. We have become as drunken sailors with barrelling laughs and fast emptying bottles saying to our audience:
“... but we were gods once!”
Aye, for if we were, then we could become again. We could ascend to the room of stars and carve our throne with lights. We could take our seats with the heavenly host and discuss lofty ideals, talks too grand for the baser undersides.Aye, for we could have the once-upon-a-time again, our souls filled with brightest glories and untold splendours. We could be what we were once, gods above men, above all that should make us fall.
They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, "You are gods, sons of the Highest, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince."
