A community of African Writers
Green Black Tales is more than a site or a blog, rather, it is a community of emerging African writers. That is what I tell everyone who asks me what the site is all about. It started out as a desire to read new content by African writers across the continent, and over the years has morphed into a community inspiring itself to push the boundaries of our literary abilities, and defy the expectations of “contemporary” African literature.
As you open these posts and immerse yourself in the poetry and fiction, bear in mind that you are witnessing present and future stars of literature. While this may come off as dreamy, or cliche, this community has a firm belief in our collective talent and boundless capacity for stunning works of literature. And so we welcome you to come for the posts, and stay for the people, after all, where else will you encounter so many talented authors in a single place?
