For Women Who Wear Their Hair At Will.

I put it to you o woman

That your ability to take off at will, what many claim to be your glory is indeed courageous.

I put it to you o woman

That each time you strip your head of its hair leaving it naked, you demonstrate that you are not afraid to show your roots.

I put it to you o woman

That I now know that your baldness is boldness expressed in a different form.

Can you teach me how to wear this courage?

Can you teach me how to show my roots?

Can you teach me how to go bold?

Now I see how you explore creativity.

You have estranged your hair from yourself,

What many say is your glory

You now craft skillfully into an image of your choice.

I see how at will, you take up your creation and wear your likeness on your head

You give it life.

I put it to you o woman

That I acknowledge your greatness.

So I wrote this poem for you :

For women who wear their hair at will.
